loud buzz when you turn it on

awr1-1w. When I turn it on there is a very short, loud buzz from speakers. Then no audio output. display works fine and shows choice of station and time when turned off. keypad on top functions perfectly just no audio after initial loud buzz.

Hi @sierra26 ,

Try connecting an external audio source via the aux input to check if the output audio is OK or not. Press the Aux key to select input.

if it is OK then at least the amp section of the radio is OK.

Have you checked the antenna connections?

Hi Mate, not sure if you’ve managed to fix this thing yet as it’s been a few years, but I fixed mine (which had the same fault) today by replacing the two small 0.47uF 50v electrolytic capacitors in front of the amplifier chip, hope this helps!

This absolutely worked on my radio. Capacitors cost 54 cents each. Shipping was $5. Still worth the price of admission

@sierra26 noise like that is usually related to bad capacitors etc. You will have to disassembly your Bose and take a look at the components. Check for obvious damage like leaking or bulging capacitors. etc. Post some good images of your boards so we can see what you see. Use this guide 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기 for that. Of course you also want to make sure you check the speaker. Consider connecting a different speaker for testing purposes only. Use these guides Bose Wave Radio AWR1-1W to wrok on your Bose.
