Charging port replacement advice
I want to replace the part of the phone that the charging cord plugs into. What is the technical name of the part and where can I get it from?

Margaret Boshart it is soldered to the motherboard. You will have to remove that like this guide shows you. Then desolder the old port. A new port may be hard to source. You can either buy an old phone that is no longer working at places like ebay.com and harvest the port from that. You can also try places like igikey.com or mouser.com and see if you can match up your port with one that has the same dimensions.
