My camera keeps saying Lens error

My Canon SX700 HS keeps saying “Lens Error camera will restart automatically” I've seen this is a common issue but most people have said their lens is stuck closed whereas mine is stuck open, how do I fix it?

my lease is stuck open and has the message lens Error will shut down automatically

livve14 yes both situations can give you the error, no matter is stuck open or closed. Try the things listed on here. repair parts for these lenses is generally unavailable so you may be looking at replacing the complete lens
