What really happened?
cannot power on or boot up well?
IIRC this Dell series, notorious for bad bloated capacitors in the mainboard.

Inspect the board and the power supply unit on that.

It's *usually* the power supply. Any ATX unit will suffice on these, but you need to watch the cable length by the hard drives. The motherboards are usually solid.
