LCD not working properly

So I’ve just replaced the mac a1502 lcd because my daughter closed the computer with a cup inside. I completed the lcd swap but now when I power on the computer the screen is black until I close the lid and reopen, then it functions fine. I’ve tried restarting the computer and it’ll start up in a black screen until I close the lid. I’ve reset the smc and vram, I have no idea what else to do?

the back light is not coming on but the screen is on

if I put a magnet near the esc key the back light turns on
