Had did a factory reset on my Pixel 3 twice and didn’t find any fault in the SIM card given that it works on other devices. Yet, I am facing intermittence with the network and most of the times am unable to make any calls or SMSs. I am not sure if it is an issue with the antennas or the SIM card reader.

Hi @j370,
Not sure if the setting is the same on your model, but check the signal strength of the network signal.
Go to settings->system-> about phone -> sim status.
Remember the signal strength is in -ve dB so the higher the number the weaker the signal actually is.

Hi @jayeff, I am getting values around the 100 range. May I also add on that mobile data seems to be working. I have 2 SIM cards, one that doesn't always work on my device and another that is not facing any issues. I am quite certain that the signal around my area is ok as my device was previously working. Not sure what are your opinions?

What is the signal level like with the good SIM card?
Try clearing the phone and messages app cache data Go to Settings Apps and Notifications and select the app.
Try starting in safe mode although since one SIM works OK this may not prove anything
@jayeff, that was the signal level on the good SIM card, looking at another device I had, I am quite certain that the signal level is roughly aroung this range. As I mentioned, I had already did a factory reset so I am ruling out software glitches. Starting in safe mode is the weird thing where it works once or twice but mostly doesn't seem to be reliable.

Are both the SIM cards from the same service provider?
@jayeff, no they are not. I had gotten a replacement SIM for the one that isn't working so well. Can also add on that both SIMs are unable to place calls.
