mic not working

Does any one has details of components in the mobo where to check if the mic connector is working properly ?

Make sure your microphone has good continuity between it and the connector at the end of the cable. Make sure the socket on the motherboard is in order. Check for continuity between pins 6 & 7 on the headphone jack. If there is no continuity there run a jumper wire between them.
