HDMI port replacement help

Does anyone know if when I go to solder on a new HDMI port if I have to clean off all the old solder or can I just put the new one in place while the solder is still melted? (Aside from the data pins, unless I can do that without bridging any pins).

Jenna Williams you "sort of" remove it. you need flux and get all of those traces nicely tinned. HDMI ports are really not an easy solder job if you have never soldered components on a circuit board. Take a look at video like this and even this one starting at 3:10

yea clean off the old solder, so the new hdmi port has a good clean connection to the board,.
