NOCO family of chargers. The GB50 is a 3000A rapid charger for large batteries.

NOCO GB50 Power Button

I have a NOCO GB50 12V 1500A battery boost box and the power button is dead. NOCO will not repair the unit nor sell the power button. Does anyone have a part # for an equivalent power button?

Hi Nate,

It may be possible to find a compatible replacement; there are a huge number of buttons available out there. We'd have to see the original and know the dimensions to be able to look for one, though.

Have you disassembled the unit? Is it possible to take the button out, measure it and add some pictures of it to your question?

Hi @nt42,

Have you proved that the power button is the problem or is it that the unit just doesn't turn on?

@dadibrokeit I have not disassembled the unit yet. I will get it disassembled and post some photos of the components and the button.

Apparently this is a somewhat common problem with these as there are posts on YouTube about it, but nobody wants to give out the P/N for the switch.

@jayeff the flashlight button of the unit still functions normally, and all of the LED indicators also still light up when using the flashlight. The power button became finicky after about a year or so, but was still useable. However, the issue became progressively worse until it finally became unusable for the boost function.

I have disassembled the unit and jumps the terminals on the power button and the unit turned on. I had to jump it again to turn it off. The flashlight button and the boost buttons work as intended. Also, I checked the USB out port and it charged my phone, and the unit charges fine using the USB in port. I believe the problem in isolated to the power button. It is approximately 1/4” square, 5/16” overall height, with 3/16” of that being the actual button, and the rest being the body.

Hi Nate,

Naturally replacement buttons come in metric sizes, right?

So we have to convert your dimensions into metric to find the right switch.

1/4" square converts to about 6 mm, so we're looking for a 6 x 6 mm part, which is a common size, so that's good.

Overall height is what we're looking for next, so 5/16ths converts to right about 8 mm.

Shouldn't be hard to find. If you want to play it safe and just get everything, Amazon has a box of assorted sizes for about $10 USD that's pretty sure to have one that'll fit.

Hilitchi 200-Pcs 6 x 6mm Tactile Push Button Switch Micro Momentary Tact Assortment Kit - 10 Value / 4 Pins: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Otherwise, if you're sure of the height just search for something like "6mm x 6mm x 8mm SMD push button switch" and you'll get a zillion results. Looks like a standard circuit board footprint, so assuming our dimensions are correct, most of them should work.

Thank you for the explanation and instruction Jerry! I will report back once the new button is installed. 👍

Did you get it fixed Nate?

Hey Nate did it work

Also curious if this worked. I have the same problem. The cheap buttons on these NOCOs are terrible.
