Charger causing device connected chime
So whenever I have my charger plugged in. My p50 randomly makes the device connected/disconnected chime even when it is the only thing plugged into it. And it happens in both windows and Linux (I dual boot(two separate m.2 ssd). Does anyone know what could be causing this? The only modifications done to it are ram and ssd upgrades. I have 64GB of team group gaming ram, two 2TB m.2 SSD and a 4TB SATA SSD, and I have an expansion card with serial on it. But it happens whether that's installed or not.

Hi @michael7832,
Being random, makes it harder so you have to try and eliminate what is causing the sound to occur
Try another compatible charger and check if it happens or not.
Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to visually inspect the USB port for any damage i.e. bent pins, and also if there's any debris in the port enclosure.

Hi @jayeff
Thank you for your advice I did try a few other chargers and it happens with all of them so I figure it must be on the hardware side. And after double checking for bent pins/debris I couldn't find anything other than some lint that I since removed. I haven't found anything that looks misplaced or damaged on the board either.
I think I'm going to have to break down and start testing continuity at all of the ports and go from there. I'm just procrastination actually doing so. Also I have tried fresh os installs and a fresh bios update. So far no luck.
Also, sorry for my delayed response I hardly have time to think most days let alone work on my own equipment. Unless it's keeping me from completing a task. And an annoying chime hardly does so.
