PS2 slim not reading discs with new laser

Hello everyone, I have a PS2 slim that is not reading discs. I have put in a new laser lens that I tested on a working PS2. The new lens is fine and works. I then replaced the ribbon cable thinking maybe this was the problems but still no luck. The disc spins and I can hear it reading the disc. What could be some of the other areas to check.
