When I switch the tv on, the display screen light turn on white for a few second, then it switching of and I see a black screen. The power led light is green, showing there is power to the tv. What causes the display screen to go dark. Could it be the backlight led faulty.

Is the sound still working when the TV is on but the screen is black?
If so try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the screen and check if you can see any images at all on the screen.
They will be very faint if they are there.
If you can see images it may be the backlights or the mainboard is turning them off for some reason.
If there are no images and no sound either its seems like a mainboard problem.
