everytime i go to settings and check for updates, something else pops up saying " Something went wrong, please try again later" and i cant open my apps because i cant update my pc, its been months! please help

Try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter and check if it can fix the problem.

Scroll down to Advanced > Rename software distribution folders and follow the instructions.

Also please check if the time on your computer is correct and set it manually if it's not.
