So I found this Samsung GT-I5500 2 years ago
and it turned on today but I don't remember the password and when I try to get it in recovery mode it just displays this downloading thing
(I attached a photo of it btw)

@pawelc looks like your phone is missing it's software and has trouble finding/downloading it. You may need to go the Samsung way as described in here Install Software
