About Kodak EasyShare Z740.
I haven't used it for a long time. I read on a blog that you can use regular AA batteries, so I inserted two AA batteries and turned it on, but it still wouldn't turn on. Does it need repair?

@cbhub7xx8xbyg2r make sure that you have good batteries. If it still does not come on, you will have to check the fuses on your main board. There are 3, labelled F1, F2 and F3. F1 should be the power fuse. Check all fuses for continuity. F1 and F2 are 1.25A, F3 is a 2.5A fuse
Use these guides Kodak EasyShare Z740 to work on your camera. There is none specific for the main board, so you will have to "experiment" a bit. Lucily the easyshare cameras are all pretty similar. Between the Z650 Kodak Easyshare z650 Teardown and the Z710 you should get this accomplished without to much trouble.
Post some good pictures of your boards etc with your Question. That way we can see what you see. While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do.
