I was in the middle of homebrewing my 3ds when out of nowhere, my 3ds stopped reading my micro sd card. It worked before, so why not now? I tried moving the files to a different microsd card, reinserting the microsd card multiple times, but alas nothing worked. I’m starting to think there’s something wrong with the sad card reader in my 3ds.

Yeah, card reader would be my guess too. Before you replace it though, there is one thing you can try. Take out the SD and put a drop or two of isopropyl alcohol (90%+) on the pins, then press the card in and out of the reader several times to try to clean the pins in there.

Don't worry, replacing the SD slot looks like one of the easiest repairs on this thing

I think the pins just got dirty over time because when I put some isopropyl alcohol on it, it stared working again. Thanks!
