@vanitadhope if your battery is overheating, replace it. It is possible that this is caused by a bad battery (faulty battery control board). Yes, there is always a chance it's your charging circuit but start with the easy stuff first.

@vanitadhope Is the phone old? If so it could be dry cooling paste.
