Compatibility depends on the Chipset model and the CPU socket type on the motherboard.

Here's a link showing the CPUs that are compatible with the Intel GM965 Express chipset which is used in the laptop.

The CPU socket on the motherboard is a Socket P (socket 478).

You have to find a Socket P CPU model from the list of supported CPUs
