Looking for Replacement Battery

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the Spectre X360 15 series laptops that will help you to replace the battery.

Go to p.31 (39 of 93 pdf) in the guide to view the procedure to remove/replace the battery.

Search online for L29184-005 to find suppliers that suit you best.

The battery model number i.e. SU06XL or HP part number i.e L29184-005 is usually printed somewhere on the battery.

ifixit discourages giving recommendations as it leads to an increase in spam being posted on the site.

If you find a supplier before purchasing the battery, check what warranty is being offered by them and their returns policy.

For example if they claim that the battery is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) then the warranty should be 12 months. If there's no mention of this then it's usually 3 months. Do they accepts returns if the battery is faulty within their warranty period yes/no? etc.

Also search online for reviews regarding the supplier as to the whether they are worth dealing with or not based on what other people buying from them have posted online. Then use your instinct to decide if they're suitable or not for you.

Do you mean being able to fold the laptop like a tent as shown in the image of the laptop in the top right of this page?

When opening the laptop you should be able to push the lid past 90° through 180° (so it lies flat) and then right on through to 360°.

If you can't move it past 90° don't force it!

It could be a problem with the hinges.

Check the hinges for ant debris etc which may be restricting their movement. Use a can of compressed air if you think that there is something there.

Also check their alignment. For example one hinge may be moving but the other one isn't. This could be due to loose hinges screws or hinge mounts. See p.39 inthe maintenance guide to see how to check the hinge screws.
