Mi 10T Pro (Apollo) Bootlooping on Turbo Charge

Hi everyone,

I'm troubleshooting a Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro (codename: apollo) running stock Android 12 (MIUI), and I'm hitting a brick wall regarding a severe power delivery issue.

Symptoms:

1. When connected to the official Xiaomi Turbo Charger (high wattage), the device instantly enters an infinite bootloop at the Mi Logo. Every 5 minutes or so, it forces itself into the MIUI Recovery Menu.

2. This bootloop occurs regardless of the battery percentage (it recently crashed and started looping even when plugged in at 68% battery, looping all the way up to 100%).

3. The moment I disconnect the charging cable, the loop stops. After about 8 minutes of sitting idle, the phone boots completely fine into Android.

4. Once inside Android (unplugged), the device performs flawlessly. The battery percentage is highly stable, there are no sudden drops (e.g., from 90% to 20%), and it does not crash or reboot under heavy load (like recording video with maximum screen brightness and flash turned on).

5. If I avoid the Turbo Charger and use a slow 5W (5V/1A) charger or a PC USB port, the phone charges normally without triggering any bootloops.

My Hypotheses:

- A faulty/degraded internal battery fuse (the 'Q' thermal fuse on the BMS board) tripping under high current.

- Micro-fractured solder joints underneath the main PMIC/Charging IC that fail due to thermal expansion when fast charging is initiated.

I wanted to ask the community: Have you seen this exact Turbo-charge-only bootloop behavior on the Mi 10T Pro? Does replacing the battery usually fix this specific issue, or am I looking at a permanent motherboard/PMIC failure?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

@juliand62545 sounds like this is an issue with the motherboard at the charging input. A 5W charger will use 5V which is routed through the main PMIC. The Turbo Charger will negotiate a higher voltage and then hand off the load to a separate fast-charging IC and OVP circuit. The secondary fast-charge IC is failing. It may have broken solder joints due to a drop or thermal stress, or it may be shorting out when exposed to high voltages. This requires a motherboard level repair. For that you will need the schematic, the tools and the skills to check the componets around the IC for shorts and replace the IC.
