Flydigi is a Shanghai-based electronics manufacturer founded in 2008; The company is known for its mobile accessories and feature-rich controllers. In late 2017, Flydigi expanded into flagship gaming controllers with the Apex series. The Apex 5 is Flydigi’s most recent controller in the Apex line. It was released in China in August of 2025, in the US in July of 2025, and then globally in September of 2025. The controller is still being sold at its original MSRP of $160. The Apex 5 supports 6 languages. The Apex 5’s joystick modules are compatible with the Apex 4 and the last generation of their other line, the Vader 4 Pro.

The controller is distinct from others on the market because of its high level of customizability. It has adjustable trigger settings through its companion software. The Apex 5 is distinct from Flydigi’s previous model with its higher refresh rate display, more powerful chip set, and two additional programmable buttons. The Apex 5 also has improved wireless latency, at 5.5 milliseconds compared to the 4’s 50 milliseconds.

The Flydigi Apex 5 is an Xbox-style, wireless controller. The controller weighs about 334 grams and is approximately 155 mm long, 102 mm wide, and 65 mm tall. The most distinctive feature of this controller is the text “APEX5,” that is located on the bottom-right corner on the front of the controller. The model name, also “APEX5,” is located on a removable cover on the back of the controller. The base controller only comes in white, which differentiates it from the limited edition variants of the Apex 5. The limited edition variants are very similar to the base model, but may contain other features which will alter the repair process.
