Background and Identification

Panasonic, formerly called Matsushita Electric, originated in 1918 as a company that specialized in selling duplex lamp sockets. The company continued to produce other electrical components through World War II, including bicycle lamps, motors, electric irons, vacuum tubes, and light fixtures. The company has come a long way since the 1940s. Today, Panasonic is headquartered in Japan and offers a range of electronic devices worldwide. These devices include air conditioning, SD memory cards, video intercoms, projectors, scanners, phones, tablets, etc. Panasonic offers a range of services as well, including fire alarm systems, business communication systems, security systems, and more.

Among the home electronics that Panasonic manufactures are cell phones, including both smartphones and feature phones. Some Panasonic phones are sleek, modern smartphones with high-resolution touchscreen displays. For instance, the 2019 Panasonic Eluga I7 sports a 5.45-inch display that has a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels.

Alternatively, Panasonic feature phones have physical buttons on a keypad with a non-touchscreen display. Panasonic feature phones are commonly flip phones, where the display and antenna portion of the phone use a hinge to flip open and closed. Panasonic cell phones all have the Panasonic logo somewhere on the device, commonly on both the front and back of the encasing.
