My name is Dante and I am a student at the University of Rhode island majoring in Ocean Engineering. I chose this as my major because I was always strong with mathematics in high school and have been fascinated with the ocean sense I was young. After college I would like to work in the field designing shoreline structures. One project I worked on in college was writing an essay explaining what vortex shedding is and how it works. I enjoyed taking a complicated topic and simplifying it into an essay with experimental data to show how it could be reduced in real world applications. I have not fixed much, but when the breaks in my car go out I know how to replace them, along with the rotors and calipers if needed. Eventually, I would like to buy my own project car and learn how to fix other parts as well. For a hobby I enjoy throwing the shot put and discus competitively for URI's track and field team. I won many rewards in high school like all state in both shot put and discus my senior year.  I am excited to gain experience with this project because it will help me understand how to properly correct errors in technical writing and learn to fix things along the way!
