Hey Everybody!

My name is Taylor and I am currently a senior at the University of North Texas. My major is Integrative Studies, specializing in Marketing, Communication Studies, and English. I chose this major because it allows me to explore three different fields of study all at once! I love all three of these specialties as they all correlate to one another and pique my interests.

Hope and Dreams

After graduation, I hope to work in the marketing and sales field. I have always loved the concept of marketing and advertising because I enjoy thinking creatively and strategically. I also have a passion for writing, both creatively and technically. I have a dream of writing a book one day! In the long term, my greatest aspirations include working a job I love, starting a family, and becoming financially independent.

Skills

Over the years in University and working part-time at various jobs, I have accumulated different skills. I am an avid writer with a knack for grammar and spelling. I enjoy editing and revising the work of my peers. I am an excellent communicator and I love talking to and getting to know new people. I have earned sales experience by working in retail and the service industry. I know how to speak with customers professionally and intellectually.

Fun Fact: I was a lifeguard and I can successfully save and extract a drowning or struggling individual in the water. I can also perform CPR and work a defibrillator.

Projects/Accomplishments

Many of my projects involve writing or painting. My proudest writing projects are my creative writing projects, as I feel my writing is the most impactful when it is personal and abstract. Painting is merely a hobby of mine and I have completed several paintings that I am very proud of. I find that painting relaxes me and helps my creativity flow. I feel that I have accomplished a good amount during my college years, such as completing a marketing plan to expand the city of Ardmore, OK, expanding my knowledge in my respective fields, and successfully making it to my senior year!

Repair Experience

I love to fix things! I'd like to think that I am tech savvy in certain aspects of technology. I have assisted my mom in replacing a cracked iPhone screen at home. I have learned most of what there is to know about Apple products and MacBooks, and I feel comfortable navigating elementary repairs such as removing viruses and resolving small technological glitches. I definitely do not have the requirements to become an Apple Genius, but I can certainly teach my grandparents how to use their computers! When it comes to fixing other products, I feel that in any situation there is always a loophole or solution to each problem. It feels so great when I successfully repair something, even if it's just a broken hanger wrapped in duct tape.

Hobbies

I have several hobbies that keep me busy and entertained throughout my days! In my spare time, I enjoy writing, painting, working out, going on walks, sewing, and spending time with my friends. My hobbies are very important to me because they keep me grounded and entertained in a healthy fashion.

How Does This Project Relate to Me?

This particular project relates to me because it will improve my writing and written communication skills. Teaching can be a difficult feat, especially teaching someone to repair something solely through the written word. This project will teach me how to do so successfully and will help with the clarity within my writing. This project will also benefit me professionally, as I will bring these skills to the work place when it comes to writing professional emails and instructing others effectively.
