I currently am attending Austin Community College where I am studying archeology and history.
My passion for history started when I was a child. I loved learning about Ancient Egypt and Mesoamerica, I wanted to be a part of uncovering and studying different cultures and artifacts. My interest grew even more in middle school. I had a history teacher who would teach the whole truth of history instead of parts. This furthered my curiosity with the world as I learned what I was being taught wasn't the truth.
I didn't know what I wanted as a career until recently after I studied abroad in England and Scotland. I got the chance to have hands-on experience with the parts of archeology. To mention a some of the things I did was excavating, cataloging and collecting artifacts, and creating mappings. During this is when I learned what I wanted to be. I hope to become an archeologist and learn more about the past. I especially dream of going to parts of Mesoamerica and Egypt and excavate areas there.
Here I am excavating at a Roman farm in Dorking, UK.
I have recently been volunteering at a research laboratory where there will be opportunities to excavate at the Gault site. There are not a lot of opportunities around Texas, but I still try to gain experience through volunteer work.
Second image I am drawing a map of a roman posthole.
Creating a IFIXIT guides will help me learn communication and writing skills and add to my resume as writing is an important factor in archeology. There is a wide range of guides that can help me develop different abilities. It also promotes sustainability which is important to me
My hobbies are reading, listening to music, antique shopping, watching movies, and hiking.
