Computer Won’t Power On

Laptop not charging/charging very slowly. Computer unresponsive, shows no sign of turning on.

Faulty Power Adapter

Make sure the power adapter is fully plugged into the device and that wall outlet you are using is powered. Try the wall outlet with another device and if power is transferred to the device. If the wall outlet is working then try to find if you can use another power adapter, that you know works, to try to charge your device. If your device charges with the working power adapter then you should buy a new power adapter for your device.

Faulty Battery

If the device only is powered when the power adapter is fully connected, regardless of how long the device was plugged in; The battery may be faulty and therefore in capable of holding a charge. It is recommended to buy a new battery see this guide for replacing.

File Moving Errors And Random Crashes

Computer crashing or not turning all the way on. File moving errors, and random crashes. These are some common symptoms to hard drive failure.

Hard Drive Grinding

When device is running or turning on, Hard Drive makes grinding, or whirring noises. If so these are the signs of hard drive failure. Poor Connection To Hard Drive

When moving files it takes longer than usual, opening programs or files on the hard drive takes a long time, your computer crashes or doesn’t boot properly your hard drive may be poorly connected. Hard Drive Failure

When using the device you cannot access certain files or the device crashes when attempting to access them. These are common signs of hard drive failure. If possible you should try to run a hard drive recovery service. If the device cannot boot up try booting into safe mode and attempting a hard drive recovery service. Broken Connections In Your Keyboard

If all of the keys on your keyboard are not typing letters when pressed, your keyboard may be failing or have a faulty or broken connection try reseating the ribbon cable before replacing, see this guide for replacing.

Jammed Key

If a key cannot be pressed, then something may be underneath the key. Remove the key and ensure there is nothing underneath it or that the plastic on the key itself isn’t damaged. It’s recommended to clean the spot where the key was with a Q-tip. Put the key back into place afterwards. If this did not solve your problem try using compressed air to force any accumulation of dirt, or dust, out from under the key. If accessible use a thin nozzle to position the air to get under the keys in the best way. Blown Speaker

If the device’s speakers are playing distorted audio or nothing at all try plugging a pair of headphones to check if it is an issue with the speakers or the audio driver.
