Automatically adds a digit to the end of my entry

My calculator automatically adds a 9 to my last number every time I try to do math. For example, I type 5 + 6 and expect =11, but calculator does 5 + 69 and I get =74 :(

The 9 button does not appear to be sticky.

Technical support just helped me fix the same issue. You need to reset the calculator. Press the "2nd" key followed by "0". Arrow down to option 2 "yes". Problem fixed.

One of my calculators is adding a digit to the end of each entry.

I know how to reset the calculator but when I try, I am unable to arrow over to Y on this screen:

RESET: N Y

I also tried holding down ON and CLEAR at the same time but that is not working to reset the calculator either.

If you notice there is a small k on the bottom right. The constant. Here is information about it and how to set it. I can be used for "good" not "evil" For example: If you are doing a process over and over like # X 2 + 3. You can store the operations as k, then just put in the number and hit =. If you put in a 9 and hit =. It would show 9 X 2 + 3 = 21. Or maybe just X 2. Old calculators, you could hit the = to keep doing the same thing like X 2, X 2, .... This is what the k does.

How do I use the constant K function on the TI-30X IIS/B?

On the TI-30X IIS/B, pressing [2nd] [Division] turns on the constant mode and allows the user to define a constant. K appears in the top of the display when the constant mode is on. The [=] key places the contents of K at the end of the expression in the display.

To enter a constant:

1) Press [2nd] [Division]. If a constant is already stored, press [CLEAR] to clear it.
2) Enter a constant (any set of operations, functions, and values).
3) Press [=] to turn on the constant mode. K appears in the display.
4) Press [CLEAR] to clear the display.
5) Enter an initial value. If a value is not entered, 0 is assumed, and "Ans" will appear in the display.
6) Press [=] to place the contents of K at the end of the expression and evaluate it.
7) Continue pressing [=] to repeat the constant.

The result is stored in "Ans", which is displayed, and the constant is used to evaluate the new expression.

Please see the TI-30X IIS/B guidebooksfor additional information.
