I've gone thru all the options on the Sony eSupport pages, it's a no go.
The power lite goes on, but nothing else works. The lil red "access lamp" (#25 in the manual, next to the sd card) flashes 2x then off, which may be an error code? The power lite goes off only if I remove the battery.

@paulieh01 this should work to reset your camera:
"The lil red "access lamp" (#25 in the manual, next to the sd card) flashes 2x then off" is an indicator for the memory card. You may have some problems with the card. Remove and/or replace it it and see if that changes anything.
