Is the iPhone 8's backside under the glass of metal or plastic?

It looks like steel to me.
The spot welds along the edge of the studs are bluish which is what steel would look like. In addition the thinness of the metal given the needed strength would imply steel as well. True the outer side edge is anodized aluminum!

It is metal covered with glass, however i don,t recommend this phone if you want a strong one a video from the channel jerryrigeverything the back glass broke dramatically after only the second from lap fall . If you a good powerful phone i would recommend the xperia xz premium.
