My laptop won’t turn on GATEWAY NV52L15u

I’ve had the laptop for over 5years and I’ve never had an issue with it before. I was in the middle of using my laptop when it shut down. I thought my battery just died so charged it right away and when I pressed the power button, it didn’t turn on at all like it normally does when it’s on the charger. I’ve tried letting it charge for 30mins and turning it back on but still got nothing. I’ve Had the charger on (with the battery out) and it’s still not turning on. I’ve also tried taking out the battery and the charger and holding down the power button for 15secs before putting the charger back on and still, my laptop will not turn on. Please help?

Whats the history of this laptop? spills? drops? repairs?

@pbw from what it sounds like, this could be your AC adapter (charger) not supplying power to your computer. That would explain why your battery does not charge and your computer does not turn on with it plugged in. Measure the output of the AC adapter (charger) at the barrel connector. It should measure 19V. Negative on the outside and positive on the inside of the barrel adapter. If you have the proper power on that end, you will have to take a close look at the DC in jack on your computer. To work on that, use these guides Gateway NV52 to get to it. Let us know what you find.
