Anyone manage to get this sorted - how? I have similar issues, chime and all happily running in the background and external display, but just white internal display...? A1237. Tried PRAM and SMC resets and the usuals...

Did you try a different screen? i want to know for 100% it's a problem with the screen or the logic board. maybe we can help each other clear things out?

These need to be handled on an individual basis as a white screen with vertical lines is actually very different from just a white screen. Your problem may be hard drive related. Please start a new question and give as much detail as you can about your symptoms.

ok, sorry it is a white screen with very fainted vertical lines! it's not the boot screen or any other thing. i just tried a reflow of the display connector on the logic board but everything stays the same! there are few things we can rule out i think:
-cpu or gpu problem
-harddisk problem
it could be a display/lvds problem or a connector or some small chip on the logic board! i'm guessing the last one... but which one??
