MacBook Fans Max on start up and lags very bad
So my 2012 macbook pro just recently started kicking the fans on high during start up. Right as the progress bar is loading the fans kick on and then everything bogs down really bad. Im able to get logged in and I can open and close applications, but its very slow and lags very bad with the spinning beach ball coming in intermittently. About 15-20 minutes later the fans die down and everything runs as it should. Im currently typing on the unit and the internal temp says 109 farenheit and fans are at 2000 rpm. Not sure if its worth dumping money into this thing or just scrapping it. Any ideas where to start? Was thinking maybe a new battery to begin with and the logic board being a last resort...

Did you try running the onboard diagnostics? Restart you system and then press and hold the D key to enter, depending on your maOS version it might no run Apple messed it up. If that fails install the great app TG Pro you’ll need to get the full version to get the diagnostic services. Let us know what you get for errors.

Thats the hard part, there's no way to replicate it, sometimes it runs perfect, other times it has this problem.

@Luke Lumley - Erratic behavior aims me to either a bad drive cable or the drive is having issues.
What is your drive? HDD or SSD, how big and how much free space does it have.
