My charger keeps connects and disconnecting every few seconds.

It keeps connecting and disconnecting and it doesn't charge up to 100 and the behavior starts after 30% of charging or so. The battery life seems normal for a gaming laptop but one weird thing I saw is that it was normally charging while I was reinstalling windows ( without removing the files ). But it comes back when windows restarts multiple times during the installation and now it still persists with the new windows. I have tried resetting battery drivers and resetting the battery using a pin for 5 seconds but it didn't work. It's an Acer Predator G3-571.

Try starting the laptop in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Alternatively, start the laptop and get into the BIOS menus and check if the charging problem is there when in BIOS.

If the problem is not there when in safe mode or in BIOS it may be a driver problem.

Also just to eliminate the battery from the problem, create a battery report to check the condition of the battery.

When you have the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value as shown in the report. For a good battery they will nearly be the same. You can work out the condition of the battery as a percentage by using the formula Full Charge Capacity value x 100 ÷ Design Capacity value.

If the battery percentage is <40% you may want to consider replacing the battery

My battery capacity is at 80% but the problem is still there even when I rebooted it in safe mode or when I'm on bios so I don't think it's a driver issue. But as I wrote in the description, it stopped when I was installing windows so I'm thinking it's not a hardware issue.

If the problem is still there in BIOS it will be a hardware issue because if you accessed BIOS by pressing F2 on startup, then no OS is loaded.

Perhaps check if the DC-In jack is OK.

What can happen sometimes is that the centre +ve connector pin of the jack, fractures internally and this means that the circuit between the charger and the motherboard can be intermittent. Any movement on the laptop can either connect or disconnect the charger from the motherboard

You can test this by opening the laptop and disconnecting the DC-In jack cable from the motherboard and then connecting a DMM (digital multimeter) across the jack cable plug red and black wires and with the charger plugged into the jack as per normal gently move the charger plug up and down and side to side whilst it is inside the jack and see if the voltage remains stable.

If not then the jack is faulty and will have to be replaced as it cannot be repaired.

But it was charging fine when I was installing windows on it. If it was a hardware issue, it would have remained when the os was being installed.

You said that it still happens when in BIOS.

When you are in BIOS no OS is loaded.

Nothing to say that the problem didn't start as you were reinstalling Windows and is still there.

@jayeff I noticed when the installation would automatically restart several times, the problem shows and then it went away when the installation presumed. That happened a couple or three times. And one other thing I forgot to mention was that the problem started around the time I installed PredatorSense on the system. I have also read in Acer forums that some people experienced the same issues after installing PredatorSense. I just wasn't sure that was the problem or not.
