There are 100s of reasons that this could happen. More context and info would be useful. Can I get the make and model of the laptop?
- Check if there are debris in the port.
- Check for damage inside and outside the port.
- Check the charging cable for damage.
- Make sure that there is no liquids in the charging port.
- Make sure that the same cable works on other devices.
- Try a different cable.

What is the make and model number of the laptop as shown on the product information label on the bottom of the laptop?
Have you checked that the laptop charger is OK?
