Ok, so the guide shows how to open the vac and unplug the battery cage. That's all. The amazon link results don't provide the replacement AND I dont have a spot welder. Not much of a "guide" and not much of a complete repair.
Would have been nice if the adhesive had numbers or peel this first, etc. Even screen protectors come with these.
I installed it but I doubt it's anywhere near waterproof and I cleaned all surfaces with 99% isopropyl and the pointy stick.
One of mine broke. I was able to raise the battery enough to grab the strip with tweezers.
Those are hoses. Pipes are in the wall
Actually ordered the battery because it was time and because there was a rattling sound in my 4s.
I did some researching and saw that it could be the lock/power button screw. I opened up the phone and saw a screw sitting in the top corner of the phone. I took it out but didn't replace this as I wasn't up for a major teardown. I just didn't want to short something out. Anyway, the whole thing took 10 minutes and the phillips screwdriver from the liberation kit fit all the screws inside. Not mentioned anywhere but everything was there w/o any synch/restore afterwards.
It's actually easier than the guide would lead you to believe! Thank you iFixit!
