I just held it open, enough so that I could remove and replace the battery, and it was pretty easy. I try to avoid disconnecting anything I don't absolutely have to...
At first it was so frustrating, I almost gave up, but then finally got the hang of it, and my second one was opened quickly and battery swapped out in no time. I was confused at the pic showing the opener tool, as that is not similar to the one that came in the repair kit. And, I still don't know what they are referring to as the retainer clips, I didn't see any parts I would think of as clips...
Why does it keep referring to "another plastic opening tool" when only one comes in the kit, and it doesn't look the one above, on the top, only the bottom one, came in the kit.
Thank you so much!! I got to that last step, put the battery in, but then had no idea how to connect the ribbon back into that "brown connector latch"! Now I do, and it worked...
Great, I got all the way to having everything done, but connecting the battery ribbon, and there's no instructions as to how to do it!! Huh? No pic, no instructions, nothing. How am I to secure it to the little opening it had been attached to?
