Acer Aspire V5-591G-75KE Troubleshooting

The laptop is unresponsive, and makes no ticking or whirring sounds. The monitor is blank, and the status lights on the laptop do not light up.

Verify that the power cord for your laptop is securely connected to the power port of your laptop, the AC adapter, and a functioning electrical outlet on your wall.

Static build up occurs when there is a small electrical charge trapped in the material of your laptop.

If your device operates normally with the borrowed power cord, that means the problem lies somewhere within the original power cord and AC adapter.

The battery in a laptop can sometimes interfere with the direct power source. Hard drives begin to run slower when stored data gets close to full capacity. You can free up space in your hard drive by deleting files you no longer need, and by uninstalling applications and programs you no longer have use for.

You can uninstall applications and programs in your laptop with the following steps:

1. On the Start Menu, RIGHT CLICK on any application or program you do not want. Select ‘’Uninstall’’. This will open the system dialogue ‘’Programs and Features’’.

2. Find the applications and programs you do not want, and RIGHT CLICK each one and select ‘’Uninstall’’ once more.

3. Select YES when asked if you wish to proceed with the uninstall.

Running too many programs or background processes takes up Random Access Memory (RAM) and Central Processing Unit (CPU) cycles, leaving your other programs with less resources to use. Consider closing programs and processes that you do not need running.

Certain programs require a significant amount of RAM. If your RAM usage hovers near 100% utilization under heavy load, then increasing the amount of RAM available may be beneficial to the system. You can follow this [GUIDE] in order to swap your the RAM in your laptop for an upgraded version.

Most laptops come equipped with 5400rpm mechanical Hard Drives (HDD). Solid State Drives (SSD) and Solid State Hybrid Drives (SSHD) have significantly higher read and write speeds, while 7200rpm HDDs provide a cheap modest upgrade at the cost of higher power usage. Replacing your hard drive with a higher performance one can lead to higher system performance.

If your laptop is stuck in the Acer logo screen, or in a perpetually loading screen, that means that the operating system is not booting up.

External storage devices such as Universal Serial Bus (USB) sticks, Secure Digital (SD) cards, or Portable Hard Drives might interfere with the boot up sequence of your laptop’s operating system. Verify that any such external storage is removed from your laptop, and then restart your computer by pressing and holding down the POWER button for 5 seconds, and pressing the POWER button once more to restart your laptop.

On occasion, the operating system in your laptop will become unresponsive. There should be an operating system repair tool built into your laptop, which you can access with the following steps:

1. Hold down the POWER button for 5 seconds or until the computer completely shuts off. Press the POWER button again to turn the computer on.
2. As soon as you see the operating system start to load, press and hold the POWER button until the computer shuts off.
3. Repeat this process 2 or 3 times until you see the Preparing Automatic Repair screen.
4. Let the computer boot to the Automatic Repair screen. Once it is loaded, click on Advanced Options, and then select Troubleshoot.
5. Select Refresh your PC if you do not wish to erase data, or Reset your PC to erase all data and restore the system.
6. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete recovery.

If the System Repair Tool failed to resolve the Disk Boot Failure problem, boot the device in Safe Mode and update the drivers for the Acer Aspire V5-591G-75KE with the following steps:

1. Hold down the POWER button for 5 seconds or until the computer completely shuts off. Press the POWER button again to turn the computer on.

8. Select Update & Security, then click on ‘’Check for Updates’’.
