I have a frozen battery cap that actually broke one of my Kershaw tools (a flat edge extension tool on one of their knives), snapped the %#*@ thing off. Now that's tight. I have used WD-40, Ronsonol fuel, and sheer twisting my best screw drivers but all I've done is tear apart the screw nick on the battery cap. I've used this tutorial to take it apart (carefully!) and been able to pull out the second battery which had white corrosion on the positive end.
But I can't reach the number one battery which is frozen in there. I've sprayed WD-40 in and am patiently waiting for it to work its way down to the connection. But I have no idea how to get that battery out. I can't get a screw in there to drill it in to the battery. I have no idea what the next step is. Anybody have an idea?

I cannot get any power going into the dock. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the analog board and dead power. The cables are hot so I know it must be the dock itself. Just nothing. Its internal leds do not light up and the Ethernet port has no activity lights either.
Any advice would be welcome.
Did it all correctly but phone still won’t access the display . I think I might have not gotten the ribbon cable completely seated, but I’ll have to take it apart again to be sure. It took me over four and a half hours to do this job. I don’t have a good working bench so that hindered me greatly. But I liked the guide for the most part. However, I would be happier if there were some guidance in the reassembly. Can’t have everything. I’ll keep working on it in between coronavirus scares in my family.
Worked great! I used an egg carton for the screws, an ifixit 52 piece toolkit — which I love! — and the battery switch was painless and worked immediately. Many thanks! The sixteen year old girl can get back to her tweeting now. Thank God.
Best,

Same here. No torx. Very easy to do. Not a moderate difficulty at all. As long as you don't rush anything and ease the electronics out. Did I say ease? I meant "tease." Tease the connectors out. Slow and steady. Easy as pie.
I use an 18 count egg carton (or two) and label each egg slot with a Sharpie. Works great.
