Pressing the power button gets no reaction.

Charge the battery by plugging in the charger. Let it sit a minute then press the power button. If the device still fails to start, there may be an issue with the battery not being able to keep a charge. If that is the case, replace the battery using this guide.

First, make sure that your charger port is intact. Check to make sure that you are plugged into a working electrical outlet by plugging something else into it. Check if your charger cable is broken by testing it on another laptop or testing another charger cable on your laptop.

The computer's power management system automatically goes black over time in order to save power. Press any key to turn the display back on.

If the power LED is flashing the computer is probably in sleep mode. Press and release the power button to fix this.

Press Fn and F5 to toggle the display back to the computer.

Press the power button in order to turn off the laptop. Once completely off, wait 30 seconds before turning back on.

The backlight brightness can be adjusted from the keyboard. If you press and hold the Function button (fn) you can adjust the brightness with the arrow keys. If the Function button does not work, go to settings or control panel. Then find the “Hardware and Sound” section. After this proceed to “Power Options” and then click on “Change plan settings”. From there scroll down to “Display” and switch off enable adaptive brightness in all sections.

If the laptop is overheating, the screen will freeze. Laptops will overheat if the fan needs cleaning or is broken or if there are too many applications or windows open at once. If the fan is broken, follow this guide.

If the system crashes and a blue screen (commonly called the Blue Screen of Death, or BSoD) appears frequently, there could be a software or processing error.

Sometimes a recently updated bit of software can cause your computer to frequently crash, leading to frequent blue screens. Start by restarting your computer to see if that solves the problem. Completely shut down your computer and unplug all cords. Wait a minute before plugging everything back in and turning on.

If the laptop is overheating, the device may give a blue screen. Laptops will overheat if the fan needs cleaning or is broken, or if there are too many applications or windows open at once. Follow our fan replacement guide if the fan needs cleaning or replacement.

Your keyboard can become unresponsive if the signals between your keyboard and motherboard are having problems.

Sometimes your keyboard can stop responding due to a problem in the reception of signals between the keyboard and the motherboard. The easiest fix would be to restart the laptop. Press the power button in order to turn off the laptop. Once completely off, wait 30 seconds before turning back on.

Individual keys can get stuck in place if there is something stuck underneath the key. Turn your laptop off and remove the power cord and battery, then carefully remove the stuck key and clean the space below it.

A virus or malware can cause your RAM to be taken up doing things you don't want in the background. Run a security check for viruses and malware, and delete any contaminated data.

Delete unneeded applications and/or saved files from the device hard drive.
